Medicare rebate and fee increase applicable 1 July 2020
Medicare rebate and fee increase applicable 1 July 2020
What does this mean for you?
Our fees have risen in line with the new Medicare rebate increase. The majority of our fees have increased by less than 1%. For example, a standard appointment has only increased by 55 cents, or 0.6%. However, in light of the current economic climate, we have ensured our patients will not be financially disadvantaged by this. Your ‘out of pocket’ or ‘gap’ payment will remain exactly the same.
Eastern Shore Doctors aim to provide patients and their families with high-quality healthcare services delivered by a team of skilled medical practitioners, nurses and reception staff.
The reality is that Medicare rebates do not cover the full cost of providing you with this service. The fees charged by this practice are required to cover the doctor’s time along with all of the practice operating and staff costs.
Our indicative fees (as at 1st July 2020) are as follows:
Consultation Type | Updated Fee | Concessional Fee(Concession card holders & pensioners) | Discount Fee for Children 12 years and under(Weekdays only) | Medicare Rebate |
Standard (up to 15 minutes) | $88.65 | $79.05 | $66.55 | $38.75* |
Extended (up to 30 minutes) | $152.25 | $131.10 | $114.45 | $75.05* |
Prolonged (more than 40 minutes) | $226.65 | $179.65 | $170.40 | $110.50* |
*Patient booked for the appointment must be present in consultation in order to be eligible for Medicare rebate.
Please note: Dr Regan Shaw charges the Standard Fee and Dr Ben Peachey charges the Concessional Fee for consultations with Children 12 years and under.
Medical consumables used as part of your treatment may attract a separate fee (such as dressings).
There are no discounted fees or bulkbilling on Saturdays. Higher fees apply on Sundays and Public Holidays. Please check these fees with our Reception staff.
Fees may be paid by cash, credit card, EFTPOS or personal cheque.
