COVID-19 Vaccines
Monday, 22 February 2021 - 4:35pm
Some news outlets are advising patients to call their GP for information about the COVID-19 vaccine.
Unfortunately we haven't been given the information regarding if/when our practice will be providing these to patients. Until we have more information we are unable to take bookings or start a waiting list for these vaccinations.
Here is what we know so far:
- The vaccines will be rolled out to the public in stages, based on priority as determined by the government (see image below for the vaccination rollout plan for Tasmania as provided by the Tasmanian Government)
- Those who meet the criteria for the first phase will be contacted directly to make a booking by the Department of Health.
- Patients will require 2 vaccinations, several weeks apart.
We understand why people are eager for more details on how they may receive COVID-19 vaccine, unfortunately we do not yet know when Tasmanian GP clinics will have these available.
We hope we will be able to share more information on the Who/Where/When/How for GP clinics over the coming weeks.
